Moving away from Lefkada Town, you’ll discover some of its most important landmarks, including the lighthouse at Cape Lefkada, the beautiful Faneromeni monastery (ideal location to watch the sunset), and the lesser-known Melissa gorge.

What to do

Apart from enjoying the view from inside the luxurious villa the countryside of Lefkada is mountainous and offers great chances for hiking and mountain biking. 

Old hiking trails have been signposted and lead to mountainous villages, small forests, and waterfalls.

The most popular sports on the island are windsurfing and kite surfing due to the strong winds that blow in some bays in summer afternoons. 

The best spots for surfing in Lefkada are the beaches of Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki. 

There are some surfing centers there that rent equipment and offer courses.

Another sport that is developing in Lefkada island is diving. Some beaches, including the beach of Nydri, are also organized with water sports centers and fun games.

What to taste

You will find restaurants in Lefkada everywhere, on any beach and village. 

Most Lefkada restaurants are located at the port promenades of tourist places, like Lefkada Town, Vassiliki, Agios Nikitas, Sivota, Nydri, and Nikiana. 

You can try the Basilico restaurant located in Nydri. Where you will find fresh Greek fish and many other dishes, prepared with the finest ingredients. 

Start your lunch or dinner with cool, fresh salads and delicious appetizers. 

Accompany your meal with some wine, raki, beer, or ouzo, the varieties of which are a careful selection of the restaurant.

Dishes are traditional and made with local fresh products. 

For clubbing, visitors should head to Nydri, while nice lounge bars are found at the port of Lefkada Town.
