Why are sailing vacations in Greece ideal in the fall?
There are many reasons to go sailing in Greece in September and October even though the season hasn’t ended yet!
Wow! Suddenly, we’re nearing the conclusion of the Mediterranean sailing season’s peak, and our attention has begun to shift to 2022.
There is still plenty of sailing, and there are many benefits to going sailing in September and October, since the 2021 season is still ongoing, with our last booking (at the present) setting sail in November.
Have a look!
1. Exceptional value for money
Peak season entails peak costs, and July and August are when you’ll pay the most for a boat charter. Chartering in the middle or end of the season will get you the best value and the most boats for your money.
For instance, you can lease a catamaran like Victoria for around 30% less than it cost to do so in August. It’s the same boat, of course, but it’s being skippered by a better sailor.
Even up until mid-October, there is still a ton of sunshine guaranteed in the Mediterranean!
2. Quieter bays and marinas
Because there is less demand for charter boats, costs are lower off-season. If you go sailing in September or October, you’ll notice the marinas and anchorages are much less crowded.
Because there will be no shortage of suitable berths in marinas or opportunities to anchor in secluded bays, you may unwind on board.
What’s not to like? You’ll also see fewer tourists in the area and shorter lines at restaurants and businesses.
In this situation, you can take advantage of the serene and beautiful locations that all of our pre-made cruises provide!
3. Warm sea: increased ability to jump in
The Mediterranean Sea is a very large body of water, and it takes a while for it to warm up. It reaches its warmest point about a month or so after the height of summer.
According to this, they are a hot 25 degrees in September and not much cooler in October.
Greece’s sea is actually six to seven degrees warmer in September or October than it is in May or June.
So if you enjoy jumping off the boat after a day of sailing, sailing in the fall is far more enjoyable than sailing in the spring since you won’t have to push yourself to get out of the water! If you are even more of an active person, choose among the activities that we offer to combine your sailing.
Hold your breath!
4. Strong winds make for greater sailing!
The sun is still shining, but the winds become a little bit more erratic and stronger, which heightens both the pleasure and the difficulty of sailing in the Mediterranean at this time of year.
If you enjoy traditional sailing, you understand what we mean.
